Himpunan mahasiswa program studi Arab Universitas
Indonesia menyelenggarakan Festival Timur Tengah (FTT) dengan mengangkat tema “Meraih Semangat Peradaban Timur Tengah”.

Tanggal: 16-18 April 2012
Tempat: Fakultas Ilmu Pengetahuan Budaya (FIB) UI.

Festival Timur Tengah akan menampilkan seminar tentang Peradaban Timur Tengah, kuliah umum dan seminar dalam bidang linguistik, pameran fotografi, peragaan busana khas timur tengah, festival musik arab, beauty and hijab class, yang seluruh konten acara didukung dengan desain artistik khas Timur Tengah.

Seminar tentang peradaban Timur Tengah akan diisi oleh Hamdan Basyar dan Dr. Lutfi. Judul seminarnya adalah “ Format Pergerakan dan Peradaban Bangsa Arab Saat Ini dan Pengaruh Dinasti Turki Ustmani Pasca Keruntuhannya”. Sedangkan judul seminar linguistik adalah “Unsur Linguistik dalam Ayat Suci Al- Qur’an”.
Seminar ini akan dibawakan oleh seorang yang mempunyai kualilifisaki
tinggi di bidang Linguistik dan juga pada bidang tafsir Al – Qur’an
yaitu Prof.Dr. Quraish Shihab* dan dipandu juga oleh Dosen Linguistik
Bahasa Arab Dr. Afdol Tharik.

Adapun pada sesi hiburan, para peserta dan pengunjung FTT akan dihibur dengan beberapa tarian khas Timur Tengah seperti modern bellydance, saidi, Shamadan, Raks Sharki, dan Khaleegy.
