Siapa yang tidak kenal wayang? Warisan budaya yang ragamnya ada di berbagai daerah di Indonesia ini memang unik dan menarik. Tak heran banyak warga negara asing yang tertarik mempelajarinya. Meski begitu, wayang di negerinya sendiri justru tidak begitu diminati. Di Indonesia, pertunjukan wayang biasanya hanya dinikmati segelintir kalangan. Berangkat dari niat untuk memelihara kesadaran berbudaya dan mendekatkan wayang dengan masyarakat, Universitas Indonesia (UI) bersama Komunitas Wayang UI, Ikatan Alumni UI, Ikatan Alumni Fakultas Ilmu Pengetahuan Budaya (FIB) UI, Ikatan Alumni Program Studi Jawa UI, juga menggandeng Direktorat Pendidikan Tinggi (Dikti) Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan RI dan Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Surakarta menggelar acara Wayang Goes to Campus pada 4-5 April 2013 di Balairung UI Depok dengan tema “Bersihkan Hati untuk Kejayaan UI”.
