menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Muhammad Nuh mengadakan silaturahmi dengan para anggota MWA UI periode 2012-2013 dengan anggota MWA UI periode 2007-2012 pada Senin malam (07/05) di Kantor Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Senayan jakarta. Pada pertemuan tersebut tampak hadir Rektor UI Prof.Dr.der Soz. Gumilar Rusliwa Somantri, Ketua dan Sekretaris MWA UI 2007-2012 Purnomo Prawiro dan Damona K. Poespawardaya. Sedangkan anggota MWA UI 2012-2013 yang hadir antara lain Alwi Shihab dan M. Jusuf Kalla.

Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Muhammad Nuh mengatakan, silaturahmi tersebut bertujuan untuk saling mengenal antara anggota MWA UI periode 2007-2012 dengan anggota MWA UI periode 2012-2013. Seperti diketahui, Akhir April lalu Senat Akademik UI telah berhasil memilih 6 anggota MWA UI unsur Masyarakat, melengkapi anggota MWA UI unsur Senat Akademik, unsur mahasiswa dan unsur karyawan yang telah lebih dahulu terpilih. Mendikbud sendiri wakil unsur pemerintah duduk dalam keanggotaan MWA UI yang memiliki jumlah hak suara 30 % dari keseluruhan suara. Tugas utama MWA UI yang mendesak yaitu melakukan pemilihan Rektor UI 2012-2017 yang akan dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli mendatang.
