Universitas Indonesia mengadakan Seleksi Masuk Universitas Indonesia (SIMAK UI) 2012 pada Minggu (08/07). SIMAK UI pada tahun ini diikuti oleh 49.479 peserta dan dilaksanakan serentak di beberapa kota di Indonesia antara lain Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Medan, Padang, Palembang, Pekanbaru, Makassar, Balikpapan, Palangkaraya dan Jabodetabek. SIMAK UI merupakan seleksi masuk bagi seluruh program pendidikan di UI yaitu Vokasi, Sarjana Reguler, Sarjana Paralel, Sarjana Kelas Internasional, Program Profesi dan Spesialis serta Program Doktor.
