MDGs (Millenium Development Goals) 2015 telah menjadi wacana ramai akhir-akhir ini. Jadwal pencapaian MDGs yang terus mundur dari rancangan awal rupanya menarik banyak pihak turun, ikut merapat berdiskusi. Beberapa pihak menyatakan kecurigaan atas perpanjangan jatah “kerja” realisasi bagi para petinggi kesehatan, sementara beberapa yang lain masih sibuk memperbaiki target yang belum terpegang. Tahun 2015 menjadi [i]deadline[/i] seluruh target MDGs. H-3 tahun [i]countdown[/i] MDGs menjadi waktu penentu atas kuat atau tidaknya komitmen Indonesia dalam peningkatan kesejahteraan bagi rakyatnya.

Target MDGs 2015 menawarkan beberapa poin yang bersinggungan langsung dengan ranah keilmuan kesehatan masyarakat seperti menurunkan angka kematian anak, meningkatkan kesehatan ibu, memerangi HIV/AIDS, malaria, dan penyakit menular lainnya, juga memastikan kelestarian lingkungan hidup. Berdasarkan keempat poin di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa keberadaan keilmuan kesehatan masyarakat sangat ditunggu aplikasinya untuk ikut membantu tercapainya derajat kesehatan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat setinggi-tingginya.

Sehubungan dengan target MDGs 2015, PHE mengajak pemuda Indonesia berpartisipasi dalam mengawal pencapaian cita bersama. PHE menawarkan tiga jenis kompetisi yaitu :[b] LKTI (Lomba Karya Tulis Ilmiah), Poster, [/b]dan[b] Fotografi[/b]. Ketiga macam lomba ini mengusung tema besar MDGs 2015 : Realisasi dan Solusi Pelaku Kesehatan Masyarakat.

Perlombaan ini terbuka untuk umum dengan total hadiah jutaan rupiah.
