Fakultas Ilmu Komputer Universitas Indonesia (FASILKOM UI) menganugerahkan gelar doktor bidang ilmu komputer kepada R. Yugo Kartono Isal setelah berhasil mempertahankan disertasinya berjudul, “Parsing and Ranking in Word-Based Block-Sorting Text Compression” dengan yudisium sangat memuaskan pada sidang terbuka yang berlangsung Selasa (17/07) di Aula Fakultas Ilmu Komputer UI, Kampus Depok. Sidang promosi dipimpin oleh Mirna Adriani, Ph.D., dengan anggota penguji, yaitu Prof. Dr. Aniati Murni, Dr. Eng. Wisnu Jatmiko, L. Yohanes Stefanus, Ph.D., Hisar Maruli Manurung, Ph.D. dan Dr. Oerip S. Santoso. Bertindak sebagai promotor Prof. T. Basaruddin, Ph.D .dan kopromotor, Prof. Belawati H. Widjaja, Ph.D..
