Setelah memimpin Universitas Indonesia (UI) selama lima tahun (2007-2012), Rektor Prof. Dr. der Soz. Gumilar Rusliwa Somantri resmi mengakhiri masa jabatannya dengan melakukan serah terima jabatan di Kantor Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan RI, Selasa (14/08).

Selama rektor untuk masa jabatan 2012-2017 belum terpilih, posisi rektor diisi oleh pejabat sementara atau Pjs. Sesuai dengan permintaan Majelis Wali Amanat (MWA) UI, Mendikbud Mohammad Nuh menunjuk Direktur Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Prof. Dr. Ir. Djoko Santoso, M.Sc. untuk menjadi Pjs selama kurang lebih dua bulan ke depan.

Dalam acara tersebut hadir Ketua MWA UI Prof. Dr. KH Said Agil Siradj, para pimpinan UI, dekan fakultas, pejabat pusat administrasi, ketua ILUNI, mahasiswa, serta pers. (YV)
