Untuk memperingati Hari Pendidikan Nasional yang jatuh pada tanggal 2 Mei, Kantor Komunikasi Universitas Indonesia (UI) menyelenggarakan pameran foto dan video dokumentasi UI yang akan diselenggarakan selama seminggu dari tgl 2—8 Mei di lantai dasar Gedung Pusat Administrasi (PAU) UI. Tujuan dari acara ini sendiri adalah agar warga UI dapat mengenal lebih jauh derap langkah UI di dunia pendidikan.

Konsep yang ditampilkan dalam acara ini adalah “UI Dalam Lensa Kamera”, yaitu konsep dengan pemikiran bahwa dokumentasi foto dan video yang ditampilkan dalam acara ini memiliki nilai historis dan manfaat yang besar sebagai “jendela” UI. Hal tersebut juga menunjukkan peran UI yang terhadap pendidikan nasional, mengingat sebagai lembaga pendidikan, UI banyak menghasilkan akademisi-akademisi ternama.

Terkait hal tersebut, video yang ditampilkan bertema “monumental moment”, yaitu kilasan lintas masa di mana video menampilkan peristiwa penting dalam sejarah UI, seperti pemancangan tiang pertama bangunan di kampus UI Depok dan peresmian gedung PAU UI.

Sementara itu, foto-foto yang ditampilkan sengaja dirancang untuk memperkenalkan tokoh-tokoh UI yang banyak berperan di masyarakat, serta peristiwa dan kegiatan yang bersifat penting yang pernah terjadi di UI. Foto-foto yang ditampilkan antara lain foto guru besar dan doktor kehormatan, foto kuliah umum Xanana Gusmao, serta kuliah umum Obama. Melalui kegiatan ini, Kantor Komunikasi berharap bahwa momen peristiwa Hari Pendidikan Nasional dapat dimaknai secara lebih dalam oleh warga UI. (WND)
