Pada sidang promosi doktor yang dilaksanakan Sabtu (18/05) di Gedung IASTH UI, kampus Salemba, Roro Azizah berhasil meraih gelar doktor pada Program Studi Ilmu Lingkungan Pascasarjana Universitas Indonesia (PSIL UI). Ia berhasil mempertahankan disertasinya yang berjudul “Analisis Ecosocial dalam Pengendalian Malaria Berbasis Ekosistem”.

Pada penelitiannya, Dr. Roro menitikberatkan pada prinsip-prinsip ecosocial yang memiliki 5 variabel, yakni orang yang berperan, aktivitas, sumber daya alam, kebutuhan, dan perhatian. Didapat fakta bahwa ecososial rumah tangga dan desa yang mendukung terjadinya malaria adalah kepasifan orang tua atau kepala desa dalam mencari dan menyebarkan informasi, status sosial ekonomi serta pengetahuan yang rendah, perilaku tidur di tempat kerja, dan penebangan yang marak terjadi di daerah perbukitan.

Sidang promosi doktor ini dipimpin oleh Prof. Dr. Chandra Wijaya, M.M., M.Si. dengan anggota tim penguji yang terdiri dari Prof. Dr. dr. Farid Afansa Moeloek, Sp.OG., Prof. Dr. dr. Sudarto Ronoatmodjo, M.Sc., Dr. Ir. M. Hasrul Thayib, A.P.U., Dr. Lukman Hakim, M.M., dan Dr. Linda Darmajanti, M.T.. Sementara yang bertindak sebagai promotor dan kopromotor adalah Prof. dr. Haryoto Kusnoputranto, Dr.PH, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadi Alikodra, M.S., dan Dr. dr. Tri Edhi Budhi Soesilo, M.Si..

Dr. Roro lulus dengan yusdisium sangat memuaskan. Ibu dari tiga orang anak ini adalah doktor ke-69 PSIL UI. (IRH)
