Pada Jumat (24/05) di Auditorium Gd. H Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Indonesia (UI), telah digelar sebuah kuliah umum oleh Dr. William C. Byham (Chairman and CEO of Development Dimension International). Acara ini dimoderatori oleh alumni Fakultas Psikologi UI Vina G. Pendit,S.Psi, M.A. (Vice President of PASSTI). Sebelum pemberian materi diberikan, Dekan Fakultas Psikologi UI, Dr. Wilman Dahlan Mansoer, M.Org.Psy memberikan sambutan dan menyampaikan harapannya terkait kuliah umum ini. "Indonesia butuh sumber daya manusia yang bagus dan berkualitas, maka penting sekali untuk mengenal dan memperdalam metode assessment center agar nanti dapat mencetak sumber daya yang lebih berkualitas", ujar Dr. Wilman.

Dalam kuliah umum ini bertajuk "The Architect of Assessment Center for Public and Private Organization" ini, Dr. Byham membahas sejarah bagaimana prosedur assessment center hingga perkembangan assessment center di Indonesia. Assessment center adalah evaluasi perilaku secara terintegrasi yang menggunakan berbagai teknik evaluasi yang dirancang untuk mengukur kompetensi yang dibutuhkan untuk sukses dalam pekerjaan. Hingga saat ini, sudah banyak sekali perusahaan di Indonesia, khusunya perusahaan swasta, yang mengaplikasikan assessment center dalam merekrut dan memberdayakan sumber daya manusianya. Diharapkan pada tahun-tahun mendatang, kantor pemerintah dapat ikut mengaplikasikan metode assessment center agar dapat menghasilkan sumber daya manusia yang lebih unggul. (NIS)
