Panitia Khusus Pemlihan Rektor Universitas Indonesia (Pansus Pilrek UI) menunda kelanjutan proses Pilrek UI terkait dengan keluarnya hasil putusan Pengadilan Tinggi Usaha Negara (PTUN). Hal tersebut diumumkan oleh Pansus Pilrek UI dalam konferensi pers yang diselenggarakan Jumat (05/10) di Ruang VIP, Perpustakaan UI.

Ketua Pansus Pilrek UI Jend. TNI (Purn) Endriartono Sutarto mengatakan bahwa hasil putusan PTUN mengandung semangat islah antara pihak-pihak yang bertikai. Majelis Wali Amanat (MWA) UI memutuskan untuk mengambil jalan tengah yakni menyelesaikan permasalahan internal UI dengan berpedoman pada aturan tertinggi yakni UU Dikti Tahun 2012 yang baru disahkan.

Berdasarkan keputusan tersebut, proses Pemilihan Rektor UI ditunda sampai statuta baru disahkan agar Pemilihan Rektor UI memiliki ketetapan hukum. Statuta tersebut ditargetkan selesai pada Desember 2012 dan penundaan diharapkan tidak lebih dari enam bulan. Selama masa penundaan, 23 bakal calon rektor (BCR) yang lolos verifikasi tetap diakui selama tidak mengundurkan diri.

Sekretaris Pansus Pilrek Corina S. Riantoputra, M.Com., Ph.D. mengatakan bahwa pihaknya tidak sepihak mengambil keputusan melainkan telah membicarakannya dengan semua pihak, termasuk kepada Mendikbud dan Presiden RI. "Kami optimis keputusan ini memiliki political will yang kuat," ujarnya.
Corina juga menyampaikan bahwa Ketua Pansus Pilrek juga telah melakukan komunikasi kepada para BCR untuk menjelaskan penundaan proses pemilihan rektor ini. "Sudah dijelaskan hari ini juga sebelum konpers berlangsung," paparnya. (YV)
