Departemen Teknik Elektro Program Pascasarjana Manajemen Telekomunikasi FT UI untuk yang kedua kalinya, mengadakan acara, “Dialog Manajemen Telekomunikasi,” dengan tema, “Membangun Daya Saing Indonesia di Era Broadband” di Ruang Rapat VIP, Gedung Perpustakaan Baru, UI Depok, (08/10).

Dialog dimoderatori oleh Dr. Suryanegara dari DTE FT UI. Acara ini juga menghadirkan beberapa panelis antara lain Drs. M. Mustaghfirin Amin, M.B.A. (Sekretaris Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Menengah Kemendikbud RI), Muhammad Salman, M.I.T. (ID-SIRTI Indonesia, Dosen DTE FT UI), Hardyana Syntawati (ERRICSON VP Marketing and Communications), Arkav Juliandri (GM and Marketing Machine Technology Excelcommindo), Iwan Gustopo Utomo (GM Graha Fatta Telecommunication), Dwi Kiansantang (Telkom Flexi), serta Denny Setiawan (Kandidat Doktor Manajemen Telekomunikasi FT UI).

Hadir pula International Gusets dari Management board CompTIA yaitu Terry Erdle,Dennis Kwok dan Jean Tang, serta tidak ketinggalan tim dosen Program Pascasarjana Manajemen Telekomunikasi, Departemen Teknik Elektro, FT UI.

Dialog ini membahas perkembangan teknologi yang telah memasuki era kehidupan berbasis broadband. Perkembangan teknologi broadband ini membawa dampak yang signifikan dalam kehidupan. Beberapa hal yang mengemuka dalam dialog ini dalam kaitannya dengan tema membangun daya saing Indonesia di era broadband.

Beberapa kemampuan yang harus dimiliki untuk meningkatkan daya saing adalah soft skills atau kemampuan untuk menempatkan diri dalam situasi tertentu dan bekerja sama dengan pihak lain, kemampuan teknis di bidang teknologi informasi seperti internet security, cloud computing serta software engineering.

Sementara dari pihak industri dan pembuat kebijakan, diperlukan keterbukaan, kolaborasi serta kemampuan beradaptasi yang tinggi dari banyak pihak dalam memajukan broadband di Indonesia dan diperlukan juga cara untuk menantang para mahasiswa khususnya mahasiswa di bidang teknologi informasi untuk terus berinovasi dengan membuat aplikasi-aplikasi yang sukses di pasaran.
