Program Kreatifitas Mahasiswa/Pekan Ilmiah Mahasiswa Nasional adalah ajang kompetisi kreatif multi bidang terbesar nasional yang diikuti ribuan mahasiswa dari berbagai penjuru Nusantara setiap tahunnya. Sayangnya walaupun UI adalah pelopor pertama acara ini, prestasi yang dicapai masih sangat rendah dan kalah jauh dengan universitas top lainnya seperti UGM,ITS,IPB,ITB,dll. Tingginya keterlibatan berbagai pihak,bukan hanya mahasiswa,namun juga dosen,BEM,dekanat,dan,rektorat merupakan fakta yang harus diyakini bahwa diperlukan proses evaluasi holistik.

Universitas Indonesia akan menerima kunjungan dari delegasi University of Queensland, Australia dalam rangka presentasi PhD Training & Research di universitas tersebut. Komite Pengawas Pemira IKM UI 2012 atau yang selanjutnya disebut KP Pemira UI merupakan komite pengawas dalam penyelenggaraan Pemira. KP wajib bebas dari pengaruh pihak manapun terkait tugas dan wewenangnya. KP berkedudukan di universitas, serta bersifat mandiri dan sementara. KP inilah yang mengawasi tahapan penyelenggaraan Pemira IKM UI, mengawasi apa yang menjadi tugas dan kewajiban Panitia Pemira, dan menerima laporan dugaan pelanggaran terhadap peraturan mengenai Pemira IKM UI.
