Masa pendaftaran bakal calon rektor Universitas Indonesia (UI) periode 2012-2017 telah berakhir sejak 7 September lalu. Sebanyak 23 orang telah mengumpulkan berkas serta lolos verifikasi dan seleksi administratif dari total 27 orang yang membuat akun di situs http://pemilihanrektor.ui.ac.id.

Dr. Tiara Aninditha meraih gelar doktor dalam bidang Ilmu Biomedik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia (FKUI) setelah berhasil mempertahankan disertasinya yang berjudul, “Hambatan Heparin terhadap Tissue Factor dan Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor melalui Tissue Factor Pathway Inhibitor di jaringan Meningioma” dalam promosi doktor yang dilaksanakan pada hari Selasa (04/09) di Aula Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia, Kampus Salemba, Jakarta.

Universitas Indonesia (UI) mengadakan upacara wisuda bagi 8.672 lulusan UI mulai dari jenjang D3 hingga S3 di Balairung, Kampus UI Depok. Wisuda yang dipimpin oleh Pejabat Sementara Rektor UI Prof. Dr. Ir. Djoko Santoso, M.Sc ini dilaksanakan dalam dua hari, yaitu pada 7-8 September 2012. Di wisuda semester ini, terdapat 1.230 mahasiswa UI yang meraih predikat cum laude dari berbagai program. Jumlah tersebut sama dengan 14% dari jumlah lulusan UI semester ini. Pada wisuda semester lalu, terdapat 429 lulusan berpredikat cum laude dari total 7.458 lulusan atau 5,75% dari total lulusan.
Kalangan militer berkontribusi dalam dunia akademis dengan diluncurkannya buku, "Militer dan Globalisasi: Studi Sosiologi Militer dalam Konteks Globalisasi dan Kontribusinya bagi Transformasi TNI" yang ditulis oleh Kolonel TNI Amarulla Octavian dan diterbitkan oleh UI Press. Acara peluncuran dan diskusi buku ini berlangsung Selasa (04/09) di Ruang Terapung Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia, Kampus UI Depok. Para peserta yang hadir dalam acara ini adalah para perwira SESKOAL, angkatan darat, angkatan udara, mahasiswa, dan masyarakat umum.

Civitas akademika beserta seluruh pegawai UI membentuk lingkaran untuk saling bersalaman dan bermaafan.Tak lupa Pejabat Sementara Rektor UI Prof. Dr. Ir. Djoko Santoso, M.Sc. hadir.
